MBA Polymers appoints Peter Whiting as non-executive director
MBA Polymers, the world-leading multinational plastics recycling and technology company has named Peter Whiting as non-executive director, effectively immediately.
After graduating in physics from Lincoln College, Oxford, Peter had a career as a market analyst in the technology, engineering and automotive sectors. For four years up to 2011 he was Chief Operating Officer, European Equity Research for UBS, the Swiss global financial services company where his responsibilities included regulatory, financial, litigation and reputational risk management; sponsorship of global IT projects; management of multiple change programmes; as well as line management of a number of operational teams.
Since leaving UBS, he has built a portfolio of activities including serving as non-executive director of Microgen plc (the business-critical software supplier), a senior advisor for Eleven Canterbury (the global network that matches technology needs of large businesses to emerging technology solutions) as well as strategic consultancy roles for a major investment bank and a spinout portfolio of a leading university.
MBA Polymers Chief Executive Nigel Hunton commented, “We are delighted that Peter has joined MBA at this stage of our evolution. He is a highly experienced advisor with a broad range of skills centred on financial services and technology. He combines financial analysis with strong communication skills and as a non-executive director has a proven ability to bring rigour, insight and integrity to organisations.”
MBA Polymers announced in January that it had received further funding from its investors which will allow further development of the business and move to the next stage of commercialising their processes and products.
Added Hunton, “We aim to become a company making proper commercial returns as well as providing significant environmental benefits. That’s the mix which will ultimately provide us with the profitable base from which we will grow in the future. Strengthening our non- executive team at this stage will really assist us on that journey.”
Peter Whiting commented, “I’m delighted to be joining the MBA team and look forward to working with this exciting and innovative business.”
