We’re delighted to announce that MBA has been shortlisted for a Guardian Sustainable Business award. We have been named as a contender for the ‘Waste’ category for our commitment to driving the pace of innovation in sustainable polymer technology and accelerating the transition to a circular economy.

Working with our JV partners, we have established three plants in the UK, China, and Austria since 1992, processing a total of 110,000 tonnes of plastic waste annually from post-consumer durable goods including cars, electronics and construction waste. We use proprietary technology to separate plastic polymers, creating high quality, secondary raw materials for use in multiple industries. Our polymers require less than 20% of the energy needed to produce virgin polymers.

We’ll be heading to the awards ceremony in London in May and will keep you posted on how we get on!

Do you want to save costs and protect the environment? Many forward-looking businesses are sourcing recycled plastics as they seek to create value for customers while reducing the costs associated with intensive resource and energy use, cutting waste and lowering their carbon footprint. Using 100 tonnes of MBA Polymers’ high quality recycled plastics diverts 200 tonnes of waste from landfill and saves up to 400 tonnes of CO2 compared to virgin plastic.

Come along and visit us at the inaugural 2014 Plastics Recycling Expo (pre), stand F025, to find out more.

PRE is a plastics recycling exhibition and conference, and will assemble leading companies from Europe’s plastics and recycling sectors in Telford, UK, from 18th-19th June 2014. The event will provide a great opportunity for companies of all shapes and sizes, including MBA, to discuss opportunities to grow plastics recycling businesses and boost the European recycling industry.

Our UK Sales Director, Gary Claypole and Commercial Director Roger Hynes will be on hand to explain how it all works and how we modify our sustainable polymers to meet your precise needs, as well as the business and environmental benefits of using recycled plastic.

Senior decision makers are expected from a variety of different industries, with representatives from the packaging, automotive, medical and consumer goods sectors in attendance.
